Gas seals are useful in processes that cannot tolerate any product contamination or escape into the atmosphere.
They are also useful for processes or materials that are sensitive to heat that typical mechanical seal faces generate. These seals use an inert gas to separate the seal faces. The seal faces are profiled to capture the gas and provide lift for seal face separation or light contact. With separation or light contact, minimal heat is generated. The inert gas provides the lubrication for the seal faces and against the product.
